Introduction The human body carries large and diverse communities of symbiotic microbes that are important for health development. While the impact bacterial microbiota, which mostly found in gut, on host physiology is relatively well described, much less known about interactions between mycobiota resulting effects health. At level nervous system, there increasing evidence implicating gut microbiota a variety neurological disorders. Similar demonstrations causal or supportive role mycobioma disorders still rare, but several studies linking fungal dysbiosis to disease humans suggest contribution fungi neurocognitive behavioral Objectives We aim through this review show Methods comprehensively scientific literature using Pubmed database other search platforms such as Google scholar state Results Our bibliographic revealed that, according recent studies, Candida species overrepresented stool individuals with autism spectrum Rett syndrome compared healthy controls. Other mycobiome signatures specific cognitive impairment demonstrated different diets modulate association Alzheimer’s markers fungal-bacterial co-regulatory networks patients impairment. Conclusions understanding biology disorders-whether causal, consequential, predisposing-could open up new hypotheses area inspire further research potential mycobiotic signatures, associated dysfunction developmental-homeostasis may contribute developmental predisposition decline, dementia, progression neurodegenerative diseases including Parkinson’s high-risk subjects.
